or also known as "Would You Like Fries With That?"
The primary goal of this trip was to move myself and a carful of my stuff from Chicago to Bend, Oregon, my current residence. The secondary goal was to do as much climbing in South Dakota, Utah, Nevada, California, and Oregon as possible before Monday the 28th, which was the day I wanted to get into Bend. The tertiary goal was to consume as many brands of fast food (or brands of diners) as we had available to us. Unfortunately, while Las Vegas was the ideal location for this enterprise (Fatburger, In and Out, Carl's Jr., Burger King, etc. etc.), we opted to buffet for the higher caloric potential. We did end up going to Carl's Jr., Jack in the Box, Denny's, Village Inn, Wendy's, Wall Drug, and maybe McDonalds and Burger King, but I think we might have avoided the last two. Sergey got a sandwich at Atlanta Bread, but that was deemed too healthy to be on this list. I got a meager buffalo burger and onion rings from Wall Drug that cost me something like $9. What a ripoff that place is! However, I later learned that Buffalo meat (or bison meat) is high in some sort of healthy sounding fat or something. So maybe it wasn't so bad.
Bend is very beautiful though the weather must be nearly as erratic as Chicago's. I go for a bike ride and it's sunny, but cold (40-50), and parts of the ride have me riding through cloudy spots with rainy snow and then later pellety snow.
photo caption: I don't know the girl in the photo. We climbed with some others in Bishop and she sent this V3 right before I left. She was pretty cute, but I couldn't tell if she was with her boyfriend or her father. It was too windy for us wimps so we decided to leave early and beat the storm. It was blowing at least 50 mph or so when we left. I lost my climbing shoes that day.
